INCUBATE* is an embedded, supported, research and development opportunity for independent artists and small to medium companies to seed work, explore new methodologies, experiment, and play.

INCUBATE* takes place within the Broadbeach Cultural Precinct, Gold Coast, Australia.

Placemakers* is seeking EOI submissions from independent arts practitioners who are interested in a full-time residency as part of our inaugural INCUBATE* research and development program. Expressions of Interest are being sought from artists working across disciplines. Artists will have an opportunity to discuss preferred Residency dates, based on a 2 week timeframe. Applications from interstate and international artists are encouraged.

For national and international applications, accommodation and travel will be negotiated with successful applicants.

Residency Location

Broadbeach Cultural Precinct, 61 Sunshine Blvd, Mermaid Waters, Gold Coast

Residency artists will be housed within a fit-for purpose shipping container which has water, power, and connection to green space.


Selection Process

Please provide the following in no more than 2x A4 pages:

Artist Profile
Respondents should provide details of the following:
1. Legal Entity Name (and ‘trading as’ if appropriate)
2. Artist Profile and brief history
3. A description of your proposed project
4. Examples of current work

A receipt will be issued to confirm lodgement of a submission.
